Kyle Orla
Guitar, Banjo, Fiddle, Mandolin, Bass, Ukulele
Kyle Orla (he/him) is a multi-faceted strings player from Duluth, Minnesota. Equally versed as a solo artist as he is as a music collaborator, his fingerstyle guitar work and folk fiddling have become well-lit fixtures in clubs and dance halls across the Upper-Midwest. He currently performs with The Field Birds and the Slabtown Ragband, and from time-to-time sits in with Charlie Parr and Four Mile Portage.
Kyle went to Perpich Center for Arts Education his senior year of high school. He then went on to study at McNally Smith College of Music and received an associates degree in Music Performance. He continued on to the University of Minnesota Duluth to get a BA in Music. As teachers do, Kyle continues learning new things about music every day.
When not performing you can find him sharing his knowledge on guitar and folk music through K.O. StringWorks on YouTube and Patreon. He spends his days restoring fretted instruments and teaching lessons. He is also an active member of the Tamarack Dance Association, a local group that puts on Folk Dances throughout the year.
Kyle lives and breathes music, but you can also find him riding his bike, drinking coffee, and helping Cooper with the house projects she’s always dreaming up.
