The Northerly School for Music was born out of a desire to have a community space centered around learning music in Duluth…and a few things falling into place.

We, Kyle and Cooper, are owners of the Northerly and partners in music, life, and family. We live in Lakeside and feel so lucky to have a storefront next to our favorite coffee shop (among many other great businesses!).

We continue to grow our staff of teachers and we’re really proud of this team that makes the Northerly so great!

We aim to be the place that people come to for music lessons, instrument repair, and for buying a new or used instrument or things like strings and tuners. But more than that, we want our space to feel welcoming, safe, cozy, and like a really great place to hang out.
